Youth-serving organizations are often trying to strengthen several things at once.
But professional development can sometimes feel disconnected from the situations adults actually face.
TEAM YDS is designed to help close that gap through practical professional learning that connects reflection, modeling, practice, and application to the real work adults do with young people.
Young people are shaped by the adults they interact with every day. TEAM YDS professional development helps those adults become more intentional in how they communicate, lead, support, encourage, correct, model, build relationships, and create environments that strengthen student engagement, a sense of belonging, and the feeling that young people are known, valued, supported, challenged, and connected.
The goal is not simply for participants to leave saying, “That was a good training.” The goal is for them to leave knowing what they can do differently.
TEAM Foundations™ is the recommended starting point for organizations beginning the TEAM YDS professional-development pathway. It establishes a shared foundation for the adults who serve young people by examining how relationships, expectations, communication, modeling, character, and everyday interactions influence engagement, behavior, belonging, and school or program culture.
If an organization begins with a specialized training instead of Foundations, participants still receive a brief TEAM YDS orientation so they understand the essential context.
Organizations that have already completed TEAM Foundations™ do not repeat that orientation. They move directly into the specialized training experience.
TEAM YDS offers nine professional-development experiences designed to strengthen adult capacity across different roles, responsibilities, and youth-development needs. Organizations may choose one training or combine multiple trainings into a broader strategy for stronger relationships, positive behavior, engagement, and consistent adult practice.
Every paid live TEAM professional-development training includes a topic-specific 30-Day Follow-Through Guide™ at no additional charge. Each guide provides opportunities for continued learning, practical application, and reflection.
Organizations participating in multiple TEAM trainings receive distinct follow-through activities aligned with each training experience.
TEAM Foundations™ introduces the core TEAM YDS philosophy and helps youth-serving adults build a shared approach to relationships, communication, expectations, support, and intentional interactions with young people.
Learn MoreTEAM Teacher™ focuses on the everyday influence educators have on students through relationships, communication, expectations, encouragement, correction, and consistent modeling.
Learn MoreTEAM Classroom Culture & Behavior™ helps educators strengthen classroom management, positive behavior supports, student relationships, engagement, and consistent adult responses that contribute to a safe, supportive, and positive school climate.
Learn MoreTEAM Character-Based Bullying Prevention & Intervention™ helps youth-serving adults prevent and respond to bullying while strengthening respect, responsibility, positive peer influence, belonging, and safe, supportive environments.
Learn MoreTEAM Coach™ helps coaches strengthen the way they lead, communicate, motivate, correct, and model character while creating a team culture that supports both performance and personal development.
Learn MoreTEAM Parents™ strengthens parent, family, and community engagement by helping adults develop shared approaches to communication, expectations, character development, behavior support, and the success of young people.
Learn MoreTEAM Guardian™ is designed for adults responsible for the care, supervision, guidance, safety, or support of young people outside the traditional teacher or parent role. It focuses on relationships, communication, accountability, and effective responses to challenging situations.
Learn MoreTEAM OST Leadership™ helps afterschool, recreation, extended-learning, and youth-development leaders strengthen program culture, staff consistency, positive behavior support, student engagement, implementation, coaching, and leadership practice.
Learn MoreTEAM OST Culture & Behavior™ helps out-of-school-time professionals build positive program environments, strengthen relationships, establish consistent expectations, and respond effectively to challenging behaviors through character-centered approaches.
Learn MoreTEAM Teacher™, TEAM Classroom Culture & Behavior™, and TEAM Character-Based Bullying Prevention & Intervention™ are connected, but they are not interchangeable. Each addresses a different need within the school environment, and organizations may choose one or combine all three as part of a broader professional development strategy.

TEAM YDS professional development is designed to be practical, engaging, and connected to the real situations youth-serving adults face.
Participants connect the training to real situations they face with young people.
Sessions are designed to keep participants involved through discussion, reflection, and practical application.
Participants examine how everyday interactions can strengthen trust, connection, and influence.
Adults strengthen how they communicate expectations, encouragement, correction, and support.
Organizations strengthen shared understanding and adult capacity so staff can respond to young people with greater consistency across everyday situations.
Participants leave with ideas they can apply after the session—not just information they heard during it.
Whether your organization needs one focused training or a broader professional-development strategy, TEAM YDS can help you identify the right starting point.
